What is Gorse Ride Schools P.T.A?

Gorse Ride Schools P.T.A. is a charity run by a committee of volunteers made up of parents and staff, who work together to raise much needed funds for the schools.  If you are a parent/carer of a child at the school, or you work for the school, you are automatically a member of the P.T.A.

How does it work?

The P.T.A. organises fun fundraising events for the pupils and parents.  Last year’s events included:

  • Christmas & Summer Fayres

  • Infant & Junior School Discos

  • Quiz Night

  • French Breakfast

  • Coin Wars

  • Sponsored Bounce

  • Second-hand Uniform Sales

  • Second-hand Book Sale

What is the money used for?

Recently the P.T.A. has donated money to the schools to fund items and projects, such as:

  • Year 1 new outdoor classroom

  • New playground toys for the Infant & Junior Schools

  • Class cameras for the Junior School

  • New Wi-fi system for the Infant School

  • 60 class iPads

  • Year 3 & 4 classroom refurbishment

Each year the P.T.A. also donates money for many smaller requests from the school.

How can I help?

  • Support – Attend an event, sponsor your child, buy a second-hand book or uniform…

  • Volunteer – Gorse Ride Schools P.T.A. has a successful track record in raising significant funds for the school, but its success relies upon parents and staff volunteering their time to help.  It is fun and a great way to meet other parents across the schools.

  • Shop -  Fundraise from the comfort of your own home!

  • Visit follow the instructions and the P.T.A. will receive a donation from sales made with participating retailers. It doesn’t cost you anything!

  • Profit match – Do you work for an organisation that like to ‘give something back to the community’? Please enquire with your HR department about any Profit Match / Match Funding schemes they may run, and ask if Gorse Ride Schools P.T.A. could benefit.
