WORK PATTERN :        5 days per week (Monday-Friday)

HOURS PER DAY :       1¼ hours per day (12 midday to 1.15 pm)

GRADE  / SCP :            Grade 3 / SCP 5

HOURLY RATE :            £9.94 per hour

START DATE :               to commence September 2019

 

Gorse Ride Schools are introducing a new and exciting role to work within the lunchtime team.   The role of the Sports Playworker will be to stimulate the interests of less active children and encourage pupils of all abilities to engage in sports and games during the lunch break.  Within this role you will predominantly support physical activities and games on the playground but will also be involved in the preparation and clearing of the lunch area and supervision of pupils in the lunch hall.

As a Sports Playworker you will :    

                

• facilitate outdoor games and play at lunchtimes

• encourage pupils to engage in sports and active play during the lunch break

• promote positive behaviour and teamwork and reward pupil achievement

• be sensitive to pupils’ needs

• be enthusiastic and motivated

• build pupil confidence and self-esteem through participation and engagement

To be considered for this role you will already have some experience of working with young people, have good communication and interpersonal skills and have a good level of fitness.    Sports/coaching experience would be beneficial but not essential.
